Trek to Kothaligad Fort

How about trekking through the inside of a fort pinnacle instead of outside? Come and see the engineering marvel of Kothaligad Fort/Watchtower, where the pinnacle is carved from the inside, forming a circular staircase that reaches the top.

Height: 3,100 feet
Region: Karjat
Base: Peth
Grade: Easy
Peth is a small plateau, with a prominent funnel-like pinnacle on the top. The pinnacle called Kothaligad, is a fort. However as per the locals, this is not a fort but a sort of a lighthouse from where directions were given to know the advancements of the enemy. This was also considered a watchtower to keep a vigil on the Mawal area in the greater province of the Marathas. Because of its strategic elevation and location, the fort has passed many times between Maratha and British hands.
